《外国语言文学研究文库·事件：构式框架与现代汉语复杂致使-结果构式》针对构式语法中存在的问题，提出一个事件，构式框架，指出构式语法的关键问题在于没有明确事件在构式中的作用，错误地将事件所发挥的作用归于构式。事实上，事件在语言习得中意义重大。
　　《外国语言文学研究文库·事件：构式框架与现代汉语复杂致使-结果构式》从事件的角度研究构式，指出从说话者体验一个事件到最后用语言进行表征，经历了六个层次，即：经验事件、概念事件、框架事件、凸显事件、构式事件和词汇化事件。在这一框架中，事件是认知过程中人们对现实世界进行表征的心理依据，指的是人们日常生活中所经历的常规行为事件。它受到时间和空间的制约，其组成要素主要包括事件参与者、行为、道具和结果。事件一构式框架认为事件是语法研究中不可或缺的组成部分，旨在将对事件的描述与对构式的理解联系起来。“经验事件”是指人类日常生活中所经历的时间和空间限定的一切事件。“经验事件”可以抽象成为“概念事件”。“概念事件”是对具体经验事件中参与者和事件类型的初步抽象。
