本书采用定、量性(问卷调查、访谈、日记等)相结合的方法,从不同角度研究了英语系三年级学生在一学期的出国交换学习期间在语言、学术、跨文化交际、个人发展及自我身份认定等各方面的变化与收获。结果显示,(1)学生在学术、语言和跨文化交际方面均有极大的收获,(2)大多数学生对自我的认识增多,对中国人的身份认识增强,(3)学生的自我发展上也有很大提高。
