圆仁是日本入唐求法的高僧,在近十年间足迹遍及中国七省,用日记体裁写成的《入唐求法巡礼行记》,被称为世界三大旅行记之一。
日本学者阿南史代女士旅居中国期间,沿着圆仁当年的足迹展开文化考察,以自己独特的“踏勘+采访+拍摄”的方式,记录了与高僧生活相关的佛教遗迹、奇妙的自然风光和民俗风情、当代中国人的生活。公元807年,日本第一次向中国派遣遣唐使,本画册的出版,也是为了纪念这一中外文化交流史上的标志性事件1400周年。
