《语篇中的衔接和语篇主旨大意的关系》研究当前语言学最热门的课题之一：语篇中的衔接。《语篇中的衔接和语篇主旨大意的关系》包括四部分。第一部分回顾了这个课题的研究历史，着重介绍了国内外研究此课题极具影响力的成果，并指出前人研究语篇中的词汇衔接时侧重分析词汇个体的重复，目前尚未有著作在词汇组合的视角下研究语篇中的衔接。第二部分拓展了Hoey（1991）创建的分析语篇中词汇个体重复的方法论，将它和韩礼德的系统功能语法结合起来，首创了一套分析小句核心组合（小句核心组合是由动作和其承载者组成）重复的方法论。第三部分应用此方法论分析英语新闻语篇，并详细阐述了这套方法论所揭示的语篇中的衔接和语篇主旨大意之间关系的规律。第四部分概括总结了本研究成果并指出其广阔的应用前景。
