《阅读中文（第5册）》是为外国留学生和海外汉语学习者（特别是没有汉字背景的欧美学生）编写的初中级汉语阅读系列教材之一。本系列教材以训练学生阅读中国报刊、浏览中文网页和查询各种中文生活资讯的能力为教学目标。全套教材共6册，第1至3册针对汉语阅读入门阶段的学习；第4至6册注重培养和提高中级汉语阅读技能。每册教材都可供30学时左右的课程使用。

Reading Chinese This Way is an exciting six-level， skill-based reading series. Each level uses 15 thematically organized reading passages to train learners to become competent and fluent readers of Chinese.
