Guo Moruo(1892-1978),from Leshan, Sichuan. He was an outstanding Chinese writer, poet, historian, archaeologist, paleographcr and famous public figure.
Guo Moruo's literary career dates from 1918, when he began to write poetry jn the vernacular language instead of the literary language, which took years to master and was incomprehensible to ordinary people. From the 1920s through the late 1940s, he played a leading role in the struggle of progressive urriters in China.
After the founding of the People's Republic in 1949, Guo Moruo continued to devote himself to writing and research. One of the best-known scholars in the history of contemporary Chinese culture, Guo Moruo was also a brilliant banner in the frontlines of contemporary Chinese culture in direct succession to the great writer Lu Xun.
