高等院校设计艺术专业教材，分设计艺术理论、家具设计、室内设计三部分。其中设计理论部分介绍有关概念与视觉理论知识；家具设计部分介绍中外家具史及风格、用材、结构；室内设计部分，除设计史内容外，还增加室内视觉感知、室内设计方法等。课文有英语原文，课后是专业术语及词汇注释、练习和参考译文。 本书可用作高等院校设计艺术类专业的专业教材外，还可供高职高专及有关培训班选用作教材，也可也用作室内设计与家具设计方向的本科及研究生的专业英语教材。
