《钱伟长学术论文集（第1卷）（1937-1955）》的出版可以让我们体会到钱伟长先生在长期科研实践中形成的治学理念，这就是：高瞻远瞩，锐意创新，求真务实。他一向认为，科学研究要从实际出发，为社会发展和学科发展服务，要高瞻远瞩地根据实际需要来选题；而科学研究必须从基础研究人手，不能就事论事，照抄照搬，必须狠下功夫，大力从事机理性探索，不断提出新概念、新方法，所得到的结果必须接受实践的检验。从文集中的每一篇论文中，我们都可以看到创新精神的光芒。
