作者介绍:

郭巧生was born on February 16, 1963, in Suzhou. Nowhe is workingin Nanjing Agricultural University as professor and doctorialtutor, and has being served as chairman of Chinese MedicinalMaterials Institute and director of Traditional Chinese MedicineDepartment as well, and has long engaged in the teaching andresearch of Standardization Produce of Chinese Medicinal Materialsand resources and genetic diversity of medicinal plants. He hasundertaken more than 10 projects of Chinese National NaturalScience Foundation, the 10th Five Years Key Programs and llth FiveYears Support Projects for Science and Technology of China. Now hehas published more than one hundred research papers, written fivetextbooks including two National Projected Teaching Materials andthree professional works, and holden two State TechnologicalInvention Patents. At the same time, he is the specialist in draftand certification GAP for Chinese Medicinal Materials of State Foodand Drug Administration, the councilor of China Association ofPromoting GAP of Chinese Medicinal Materials （Hong Kong）, thecouncilor of China Association of Promoting Chinese Medicine, thevice chairman of Good Agricultural Practice of Medicinal Plants andAnimals Association, and is editorial member of "China Journal ofChinese Materia Medica", "Journal of Chinese Medicinal Materials","Research and Practice on Chinese Medicines" and "Life World".

The specialized reference book of "The Illustrated Seeds ofChineseMedicinal Plants", written by Professor Qiaosheng Guoworking in NanjingAgricultural University, published by HigherEducation Press. Though colorfulphotos, over 400 kinds of the seedsor fruit of the common medicinal plant inChina were selected andclassified by the order of family and genus. The photoscomprise thepictures of the group, facade, side, crosscut and theanatomyshaping in embryo of the seeds, together with the picturesof the seeds, whichhave similarity in genetics. In addition, thephotos with simple characters inconfiguration and physiologyproperty are also described.
The content is original and has included the pictures andcharacters. Itwill give a reference to the researchers and teacherswho have been conductingChinese Medicine and medicinal plants.
