本书以单元的形式出现,主要包括四部分:对话、阅读、投诉、练习。第一部分主要内容为导游接待客人的整个流程,采取模拟真实导游与游客在不同情景中对话的方式,为导游在服务中遇到的各种情况提供实用的英语口语解决办法。场景内容包括:为客人预订酒店及机票、接机、办理酒店入住、用餐、购物、景点导游、安排游览线路、费用商议、应对投诉等等。在每个场景对话后,会将有用的词组和句型单独列出。并且作为本书的一大特色,会将涉及到海南以及祖国的风土人情融入到对话之中,包括天气、地理位置、特色产品、水果、少数民族、节日庆典、手工艺品等内容。其中,为了能详细、清晰地将这些内容展示出来,我们采取在每一个单元结尾用注释标注的方式。 第二部分以全国知名旅游景点的景点中英文对照介绍词。其中包括滨海旅游、名山大川及名胜古迹各个景点。既有各个旅游景点的标准英文名称,也有在这些历史、自然景点的中英文解说词,包括景点的由来与历史名人的故事等等。 第三部分主要涉及客人投诉与处理技巧。 第四部分涉及与本单元有关的口笔头练习。书末附有外语导游应具备的知识和素质资料,供教师选讲和学生自主学习。

《导游技能英语》是针对高等职业技术学院培养涉外导游应用型人才而编写的教材。本着“以就业为导向,以能力为本”的人才培养目标,其教学模式突出职业技能的训练和培养。本书以涉外旅游接待流程为主线,将旅游中的英语文化交际技能渗透到英语教学中,使学生在学习实用英语语言的同时,掌握导游常识和英语文化,做到导游语言知识、素质、技能和文化、礼仪并举,达到涉外旅游与国际接轨的目的,是一部选材实用、可读性强、操作性高的高职英语教材。
