本书依据目前高等学校临床药学专业的课程体系和课程标准，结合临床药学专业未来的发展趋势，在第一轮教材的基础上，我们对教材体系和内容作了较大调整和完善，主要体现在：1.明确教材定位，进一步完善教材体系。不再单独设立临床医学专业基础课教材（《内科学基础》、《外科学总论》），而是将其与专业课（ 《临床药物治疗学》）充分整合，新编为《临床药物治疗学各论》（上、下册）。新增《生物药剂学》 、《药物经济学》、《药学服务与沟通技能》等专业课教材。2.围绕专业培养目标，突出临床药学专业特色。教材内容，体现医学、药学知识有机融合的要求，突出应用性、实践性等临床药学专业特色。3.丰富教材编写形式，强化理论知识与临床药学实践的联系。引入“学习目标”、“知识链接”、“案例分析”等编写模块，从形式和内容上，加强理论联系实际、基础联系临床。4.优化编者团队，院校师资携手临床专家。教材在编写队伍的组建上，尤其是专业基础课和专业课的编者团队，由来自院校的一线优秀教师和具有丰富实践经验的临床药师和医师共同组成，从而保证了教材内容既能很好的满足院校教学需求，也更加贴合临床实践。
