《英语主要辞格语用解读》编著者韩仲谦。 Figures of speech or tropes have always been interesting topicsfor language researchers as well as average language users. Howev-er, traditional approaches to the study of various tropes rest on theeffectiveness of language expressiveness, seldom referring to theroles which language producers and audience may play, not to men-tion the study of the psychology of language users. Modern pragmat-ics also approach to the effectiveness of use in language communica-tion. It shares with traditional rhetoric the same main content andphilosophical foundation, and may thus offer new methods of explo-ration for traditional rhetorical tropes. Therefore, the mutual infil-tration of the two disciplines in their contents and research methodswill inject new vitality to each other and upgrade their theoretic andacademic levels.
