《海船无线电人员考证培训教材：GMDSS通信英语基础知识与阅读》是为了适应全球海上遇险与安全系统（GMDSS）的实施及近年来STCW、SOLAS公约的几次修正，专门为航海类院校、社会培训机构的航海专业学员编写的《海船无线电人员考证培训教材：GMDSS通信英语基础知识与阅读》。本教材共包含两大部分内容：基础知识介绍和英语阅读。基础知识部分共包括6章内容：GMDSS系统筒介、遇险与安全通信、卫星通信系统、地面通信系统、海上安全信息和船舶报告系统等。6章内各从业务的角度由表及里，并结合《ITU无线电规则》、《SOLAS公约》、最新国际会议文件等资料，阐述了GMDSS原理及操作。为了深化GMDSS理论，1～5章的课后备有丰富的训练内容，使学员学习的同时，知识面、知识深度得以进一步扩展。
英语阅读包括从《ITU无线电规则》、《SOLAS公约》、最新国际会议文件、气象预报、气象警告、航行警告、设备操作安装说明书等各种文献摘录的短文100篇，每篇短文后面都备有针对性训练内容，以此强化学员的英语阅读能力。《海船无线电人员考证培训教材:GMDSS通信英语基础知识与阅读》既可以作为培训机构GMDSS业务（欢语）及其英语培训赦材，也可以作为航海专业GMDSS课程的指定教材，同时对于航运管理人员和其他有关人员在GMDSS学习、操作方面也具有一定的参考价值。
