本书通过对中国以英语作为外语的学生为研究对象，试图找出影响动词序列排列情况的主要因素。其收购这些序列的主要因素中间大学生的英语口语（VFS）的公式化序列收购。研究表明阻碍中国学生语言表达的原因在于实际交流需求的匮乏。基于这项研究的结果，作者为中国的英语课堂学习和教学提出了一些建议。
