According to the police, at 10:08 am, the bus abruptly swerved(改变方向）when crossing the Second Yangtze River Bridge in Chongqing‘s Wanzhou district（区）. It stepped over the central line that separates vehicles running in opposite directions and rammed（猛撞） into a red car in another lane. The bus then hit the pavement, broke through the guardrail（护栏）and careened（猛冲）into the river.
