The Spring Festival is a traditional Chinese festival. It comes in January or February each year.

On Spring Festival’s Eve, the night before the Spring Festival, each family has a big dinner.

People usually eat some traditional Chinese food like dumplings, New Year cake, fish and sweet rice pudding. They are very delicious and they are food for good luck.

At 8 o’clock, people start watching the Spring Festival Gala.

Then at midnight people set off firecrackers and fireworks to welcome the Chinese New Year.

On Chinese New Year’s Day, people visit their friends and relatives, saying Happy New Year or Happy Spring Festival to each other.

Children usually get lots of lucky money. Chinese people think lucky money can bring the children good luck in the new year. Chinese people like the Spring Festival.
