Tu Youyou, female, was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province.In 1951 she was admitted to Peking University.Tu Youyou has been engaged in traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine research.In September 2011, she discovered artemisinin(青蒿素), saving millions of lives worldwide especially in developing countries.In October 2015, Tu Youyou got Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
