Background

Christopher Reeve was an American actor who became famous as Superman in three very popular films. He broke his spine(脊柱) in a horse riding accident and became paralysed(瘫痪). After that, he showed incredible strength of character in recovering psychologically and physically and also promoting research into spinal cord(脊髓) injuries. He died in 2004.
