The ancient city of Pingyao was listed as one of the World Cultural Heritage(文化遗产） by the UNESCO in 1997 ，thus attracting many visitors both at home and abroad.
Since then, it has been the host city（主办城市） of the China Pingyao International Photography Festival (PIP). Meanwhile, was set up to develop the tourism of Pingyao.
