Dear Sir/Madam，

I am a student from China and plan to learn English in Lancaster University for 6 months. I am writing in response to your advertisement. Here are few things I'd like to clarify.

Firstly, could you tell me how I can get to the University from my host home? Secondly, I'd like to know if I would have a separate room of my own. And I wonder if there are any children in the family. I would be beneficial to have someone of a similar age living with me. Also I tend to know if they have any special customs. Lastly, I wonder what is included within the fees in the ad, and whether it should be paid monthly or weekly.

M: He plays the violin very well, doesn't he, Helen?

W: Yes. Well, we need a guitar player. How about you?

M: Sure! I haven't played the guitar for a long time, though.

W: Jack wants to hear you play first before we practice together. Are you free on Wednesday?

M: Sorry. How about the next day or Friday?

W: Let's say Thursday. Jack has piano lessons on Friday.

M: OK. Where and when?

W: Come to my apartment at half past seven. We can walk over to Jack's house. The band uses his

dad's garage because his room's too small.

M: Hey, did you hear the good news? Our basketball team won the city championships last night!

It's the first time we've won in 12 years!

W: Wow! That's great news! Congratulations! You all must be so happy！

M: Yeah, we're all happy and excited. We're planning to throw a big celebration. Would you like to

come to the party?

W: Absolutely! I'd love to, but where and when?

M: I was thinking of holding it at the school hall, but it's under repair and won't be available until

next Friday, so we decided to hold it at the community center next Wednesday.

W: Perfect. There should be enough room for the entire basketball team and all of our friends!

M: Shall we meet up tomorrow? I'd love some help in buying food and drinks and also in sorting out

a music playlist.
