China's first "Wheelchair anchor①" - Liang Yi
Liang Yi was born in Hunan Province. She graduated from the Communication University of China in 2001 and became a popular anchor of Hunan TV. However, only a few months later the girl was told that she would have to spend her whole life as a paraplegic②.
It was a period of darkness and confusion. As she looked around and saw all her college classmates building careers for themselves in the media, it was hard for her to imagine what her new life in a wheelchair would be like.
After 8 years of study and treatment from 2004 to 2012 in Beijing, Liang Yi began to recover her strength. She had the good fortune to get back into the studio, and became the anchor of a television program called "Help you", which was broadcast on Hunan TV in 2012. She also became China's first anchor in a wheelchair.
"I often receive letters from young people who have problems with their unhappy lives. I want to say to them: Look! There are people who dream of nothing more than standing up, having a meal, or going to the toilet by themselves. Why don't you, as a person with a healthy body, treasure your life?",
