Step I Lead-in

T: Yesterday we talked about the differences between life as an American senior high student and a student in China. What are the big differences?

Ss: American high schools offer a large number of clubs and different after-class activities.

T: Quite good. Here are some topics and say what you know about them.

Show the topics in Ex 9 on the PowerPoint.

Step II Speaking and listening

Discussion

Students will discuss Ex 10 on Page 101 in different groups. Several minutes later, ask some students to present their discussion.

Suggested answers:

10.1. Basketball Club, Football Club, Running Club, Concert Band, Debating Club, Ping-pang Club, Rope -skipping Club, Biology Club and Robot Club. .
