Objective and requirements:

　　to write a narrative in three paragraphs

　　to develop self-assessment of writing skill.

Key points and difficulties:

　　Tense (the Past Simple and Past Continuous)

Linking: sequence words like one, suddenly, first, and, meanwhile, then, later on/afterwards, after that, finally/at last/in the end, etc.

Teaching facilities: A multimedia computer，an achievement assessment file

Methods and techniques:

Autonomous learning, task-based teaching method.

Teaching procedure:

I Warm up:

1) Look at the pictures about the Shenzhou VI and the heroes.

2) Have the students make an oral Presentation about the launching of the Shenzhou VI based on the information collected. ( autonomous learning )

II Pre-writing:

1) Read and learn (information input)

• Read the story called "True Life Drama" on page 90. Match the paragraphs with these sections of the article and story.

• Tense: the Past Simple, the Past Continuous
