Unit 5 Do you have a soccer ball?

1. Teaching aims: Learn how to use have for items on the questions and ask.
2. Language goal:
(1) Key words: do(does), have, tennis ball, soccer ball, football, volleyball, basketball, ping-pong ball, ping-pong bat,baseball, baseball bat.
(2)Key sentences:A: Do you have a/an...?
B: Yes, I do. / No, I don't.
A: Does she/he have a/an...?
C:Yes, she/he does./No, she/he doesn't.
3. Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Review and lead-in.
Make conversations about "where-questions." Such as "Where is the clock? It's on the table," after that, we can ask" Do you have a clock? Do you have a baseball? In this way, we can begin our new lesson and show the title on the blackboard.
Step2. Learn new words.
T: What's this in English?
Ss: It's a basketball.
T: How do you spell it?
Ss: B-A-S-K-E-T-B-A-L-L.
In this way, ask balls as many as possible .Such as: volleyball, ping-pong ball, basketball, football, soccer ball and so on. Read after teacher and students again and again. Then let students recite new words, and ask students to spell.
Step 3 Begin new class.
Make sure some of students are good at playing balls and I am sure they can talk more than teachers .So, ask them to talk more, Don't care about they speak English or Chinese. It's very important to make our class lively. At this moment, ask " Do you have football ?" Help them answer "Yes, I do or No, I don't",then read after teacher and students again and again.
