Step1.Presentation of homework

1)、翻译下列短语与句子:

1.一名好学生 2.一名来自美国的外教

3.我坐在一个名叫戴安娜的女孩旁边。 。

4.所有的同学都喜欢我做的蛋糕。 。

(在此句中先行词 ,关系词 ,定语从句 )。

2)、尝试翻译下列带定语从句的谚语:

1. God helps those who help themselves.

2. He who laughs last laughs best.

3. He who doesn't reach the Great Wall is not a true man.

Step2:Revision and lead-in

1. Check up and review the adjective, phrases or clauses used to modify the nouns.

Step 3. Introduction to attributive clauses

定语从句:

1.定义:在复合句中修饰名词或代词的从句称为定语从句,一般紧跟在它所修饰的先行词后。

2.主句与从句: Introduce main clause and the attributive clause.

All my classmates were fond of the cake that I made.

He who laughs last laughs best.

3.定语从句相关术语与先行词: Introduce the terms of 'attributive clause' and 'antecedent'.

2. 先行词:被修饰的名词或代词。

3. 关系词:引导定语从句的关联词成为关系词。关系词有关系代词和关系副词。关系代词有that, which, who, whom, whose, 等;关系副词有where, when, why等。

Mary is a student who is 21 years old.

 3. Introduce the functions of the relative words. (Page 8)

自学小结:关系词的作用:

① 指代先行词;

②连接定语从句与主句;

③ 并在定语从句中充当从句某一成分。

[设计说明]:在高一学生学习定语从句的时候,有必要把主句和从句、先行词和定语从句、关系代词和关系副词等基本概念理清。

Step4. Practice-Distinguishing attributive clauses

1. Read the passage on page 9 and find out the attributive clauses in each paragraph. The teacher can start with the first paragraph as an example.

2. Ask Ss to underline the antecedent as well.

[设计说明]:在理清基本概念之后,让学生识别定语从句。教师在此过程中可以发现学生概念模糊地地方,并及时予以纠正。

Step 5. Consolidation

1. Ask Ss to do exercise C1 on Workbook P88 individually. Tick the sentences with attributive clauses.

2. Check answers.

[设计说明]:该练习把含定语从句的句子和含状语从句、宾语从句的句子掺杂在一起,让学生识别哪些是定语从句,再次帮助学生明确基本概念。
