　　 Listening and speaking

　　一．学习目标

1.学生先听懂对话内容，掌握大意，再要求听清楚细节，最后展开小组讨论。

2.学习表示"说服他人做某事"的用语，并在此基础上，学生自创情景进行对话。

　　二．听力背景

一个男孩Paul和一个女孩Carrie就杂志上的一篇文章（过量使用化肥会影响我们的生活）展开对话，要求学生理解听力内容的主旨和相关细节。

　　三．知识重难点

　　1．听的难点：Page15听力中有关化肥使用带来的问题。Page48听力中沙漠形成的原因。

　　2．说的重点：如何说服顾客购买自己的产品。

　　四．听力训练1 (page15)

1．Review what the students have learned in the reading passage "Chemical or organic farming ?" Make a list of the problems that chemical fertilizers can cause and the advantages of organic farming.

2．Ask Ss to discuss the following questions with their partners in groups of four and try to predict the answers.

　　1) What will be the result if Mr. Jones uses chemical fertilizers in farming?

　　2) What will be the result if Mr. Smith uses organic farming ?

　　3) Who will win if they take a competition when it is harvest time?

　　3．listen to the tape and try to know the main idea of the dialogue.

　　4． listen to the tape a second time and decide if the following statements are true or false .Give your reasons .

　　1)Paul thinks that Carrie is not telling him the truth. ( )

　　2)Using chemical fertilizers always makes vegetables empty inside. ( )
