二、教材分析

　　本单元以What were you doing when the rainstorm came?为中心话题，围绕着天气的变化来阐述过去进行时，学习和运用过去进行时，让学生熟练掌握并加以运用。教学内容与学生的实际生活密切相关，易于引发学生运用简单的英语进行交际。在学习活动中，方便于学生的交流，本课是第一课时，主要学习内容是:表示正在进行的一些短语。

教学重点：

rainstorm, suddenly, alarm , go off , pick up , strange, report, area, wood, light, window, match, beat, heavily, against, asleep, fall asleep, die down, rise, apart, passage, pupil, bright, play ground, bell, completely, silence, in silence, recently, date, tower, at first, realize, truth .

句子:

三、学情分析

　　众所周知当学生进入八年级以后，随着年龄的增长他们在英语课堂上越来越不愿动口学说英语，对英语的兴趣感也日益下降；再加上学生在英语学习上的两级分化进一步加大，所以要上好一堂英语课也越来越不容易。
