Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Revision and Lead-in
(Greet the whole class as usual.)
T: In the last period, you talked about yourselves, your previous schools, your school life and your feelings about your new school. You all did a good job, I think. Do you want to know another student's thoughts about his school? Let's see what he/she is talking about.
Step 2 Pre-reading
T: Before reading the passage, let's deal with three questions. The first one, what are the main differences between Junior High school and Senior High school? This question is a little difficult, you can discuss it with your partner and then stand up to answer it voluntarily, understand?
Ss: Yes.
(Students discuss it.)
S:I think students at Senior High school work harder than those at Junior High school and they all have a hope to go to university.
S: At Senior High, students have more space and freedom to study by themselves because they are old enough to do it like this, while in the Junior High school they are often asked even forbidden to study.
S: The period of Senior High school is more important than the one in Junior High school in learning knowledge, developing interest and growing.
