　　Reading Interests of Senior Middle School Students

　　Recently a survey has been made to find out the reading interests of senior middle school students.In this survey，one thousand senior middle school students from ten schools in Jiangsu Province were interviewed.They were asked which they liked reading most among four categories of English articles：news，stories，popular science articles and articles about learning methods.

　　The survey shows that more than half of the students like to read news most.Twentysix percent of the students say that they like to read English stories most.Only seven percent of the students are most interested in reading articles about learning methods.However，the number of students who enjoy reading popular science articles doubles that of those who prefer reading articles about learning methods.

　　这是一篇调查报告，文章标题充分概括了这篇文章的内容："高中生的阅读兴趣。"开篇点明调查目的：了解高中生的阅读兴趣。紧接着说明调查过程(调查人数、调查问题等)，最后是调查结果及其对比。文章也注意了过渡词的使用，如however，only等，使文章连成一体。同时用了一些对比词汇，如double，most，more than等，说明作者有自己的评定能力，并能准确地表达出来。

　　However，the number of students who enjoy reading popular science articles doubles that of those who prefer reading articles about learning methods.

　　这是一个复杂的长句，其中有两个who引导的定语从句分别修饰students和those；在主句中，that代替the number。本句体现了作者扎实的基本功和对语言的驾驭能力。

　　下面的句子选自短文中，如果能作以下调整，则文笔会更加生动。

　　句1：Twentysix percent of the students say that they like to read English stories most.

　　句2：Twentysix percent of the students say that English stories are their favorite.

句2用"be favorite"代替上文曾出现过的"like...most"，体现了表达方式的多样化。
