Step 1 lead -in
T: Now class, we have finished Module1, .Would you please tell me what you have learned in the last module?
Ss: We learned about our body and healthy habits.
T: Yes. So if we want to keep healthy, we should develop a good habit of life style. It is much easier to fall into bad habits than to form some good ones. Once you have had some habits , it will not be easy for you to get rid if them, for example, smoking. Almost all of us know it is not good for our health to smoke, even those heavy smokers, but there are still millions of new smokers each year and they won't give it up. Now today let's have a talk about smoking.
Step 2 Introduction
T: Has any of you ever tasted smoking? I have a pack of cigarettes here, and who wants to have a smoke? (Show a pack of cigarettes, and of course, no smoking is allowed here.)
Some thinks that smoking is so cool, especially for the young and ladies , do you think so?
S: No. I don't think so. It's unhealthy.
T: How many cigarettes are smoked each day in the world?
( For these questions, the teacher may let them have a guess at first, and then they would be so surprised at the huge numbers, which will be helpful for them to know how serious the situation is now. )
T: Now let's have a quiz to see whether your guesses are right or wrong.
