3、 To talk about obligation

4、 Students learn how to refuse other people politely

Can for invitations, Modal have to, Present progressive as future, for planned actions

Can you come to my birthday party? Yes, I'd love to. Sorry, I can't. I have to study for a test.

               I'm sorry. I'm playing soccer on Saturday.

Procedures:

Step 1.Lead-in

1. Play a song "Merry Christmas". Tell students Christmas is coming and I receive an invitation from Sun Ning. He asks me to go to his Christmas party when I am free.

Step 2.Presentation

1. We talk on the wechat and introduce the phrases in 1a.

2.A game:memory challenge

Leave students 30 seconds to remember the phrases above and their orders..then students say the phrases without any pictures or phrases.

3.Students read the conversations between Sun Ning and me on the wechat together and try to find out how to make ,accept and refuse an invitation.
