Ⅵ Teaching thought
Before class, play the theme song YOU AND ME to create the atmosphere about the Olympic Games. The text is a story easy to grasp the main plot and get more detailed information. Besides developing students'reading ability, I focus teaching difficult points on using what the students have learnt from the text to express themselves freely. While reading, students learn to use different reading skills (skimming and scanning) to finish the exercises in PPTs . Byself-learning ,cooperative learning and discussing, students try to get more information from the text and use English to develop their imagination and express themselves freely. During the study, students learn to understand the proverb Where there is a will, there is a way.
