这里过去有一些排出浓烟、气体和废水的工厂。 There used to be ...表示"过去经常有......"。 There_used_to_be_only_one_school in our town.

当路过河边时，我们不得不捂住鼻子...... 状语从句的省略。 When_watching_TV,_I received his phone.
