One morning, Mary put on her boots and overcoat and was leaving to work when she heard the weather forecast, saying there would be a thick fog that day.Later in the afternoon when she was going home after work, she glanced around and observed no one in sight in the foggy and narrow street.She hurried to the bus station but the conductor there told her that nowhere could buses go in such bad weather.

　　Just when she hesitated and wished for a helper, she heard the sound of footsteps approaching and a man's voice coming out of the darkness.He reached out his hand to grasp her arm firmly, telling her not to be anxious and watch out for her steps as he said he would sent her home.

　　Not until she felt grateful to his aid in relief did she find herself staring up at an old man's face with a beard.He was a man with disability, blind in both eyes.He volunteered to guide others in return for the help he got on sunny days.

　　一天早上，玛丽穿上靴子和外套正要去上班，这时她听到天气预报说，那天要有大雾。后来到了下午下班回家时，玛丽扫视四周，结果发现在这大雾茫茫的狭窄街道上看不到一个人。她急忙奔向车站，但是那里的售票员告诉她说这样恶劣的天气公共汽车哪里也不能去。
