They sailed to shore and explored the forest. They came across⑯ huge insects and many strange creatures. As they were wandering around, they noticed a man sitting against⑰ a tree⑱ in the distance - he was at least four metres tall. The men became afraid, and ran back to the boat.
They set sail again, and saw what looked like an exit⑲, but it was blocked by rocks which had fallen down from the ceiling⑳. They made a bomb to blow up\s\up1(21(21) the rocks. After the bomb exploded, their boat rushed wildly forward into a large hole. The boat floated\s\up1(22(22) down with the water. It was too fast for them to escape\s\up1(23(23). They could only hold on to\s\up1(24(24) the boat in terror\s\up1(25(25).
Finally, they reached the bottom of the hole. Then the water began to push them up. They floated upwards\s\up1(26(26) for miles. The water rushed beneath them, \s\up1(27(27)pushing them out into the sunlight\s\up1(28(28). They now found themselves in a volcano\s\up1(29(29) in Italy - their adventure was over, but a new one was about to begin\s\up1(30(30).,⑯come across
