二、学情分析

本单元"健康生活"的话题与学生的实际生活密切相关，虽然大多数学生没有抽烟的切身体会，但身边不乏抽烟和戒烟成功的例子，通过阅读和理解部分的学习，学生应该能说服家人或朋友把烟戒掉，并思考健康的生活方式，培养良好的生活习惯。

三、教学过程

　　Step 1. Warming up.

　　Activity 1. Brainstorming.

　　Which words come to your mind when we speak of health?

　　设计思路：启发学生联想现实中与健康相关的词汇和话题。

　　Step 2. Pre-reading.

　　Activity 1. Watch a school interview.

　　What are they talking about?

　　设计思路：观看关于健康和吸烟话题的视频，引起学生思考，以"Can you help Gao Qian and give some advice to persuade her father to give up smoking?"作为过渡，进入阅读课文环节。

　　Step 3. Fast reading.

　　Activity 1. Skimming.

　　Skim the passage to find out the main idea of the text by reading the title and subtitle.

　　The passage is about advice on how to stop smoking.

The first part is a letter from a grandfather to his grandson. The second part is an Internet page which gives advice about how to quit smoking.
