Play the tape. Then the students finish Ex 4-5. After that, check the answers with the whole class.
Step II Speaking and writing
Let students discuss in pairs and make up a dialogue about students' preferences for sports. Let them pay attention to intonation in questions and students may use the words and expressions they have learned in this lesson. For example: quite like, would (not) like to try, can't stand, prefer, hate, be interested in, etc.
T: In the listening passage, we listened to two passages, which are about extreme sports. Also we learn some sentence patterns expressing preferences. Now look at Ex 6 on Page 25, you are given three minutes to use these words to write sentences about your preferences.
Three minutes later, let students read out their sentences to the class.
T: Who wants to have a try?
S1: I love rock climbing. I'd like to try rock climbing.
S2: I like swimming. I'd like to go swimming.
S3: I am really into bungee jumping. I want to have a try.
