Step 1 Pre-reading
1. Show Ss some pictures of computer to lead in the new topic and talk about them by using the following expressions:

2. Warm up by discussing the questions on Warming up.
3. Look at the title and the pictures to predict what the content of the reading passage is about.
Step 2 While-reading
1. Skim the passage for the general idea to check your prediction and fill in the chart with the topic sentence of each paragraph.
2. Scan the passage for the specific information to answer the following questions.
3. Close reading for details by marking True or False statements.
4. Discuss with your partner and try to correct the wrong statements based on your understanding of the passage.
Step 3 Post-reading
1. Make a consolidation by retelling the passage based on the timeline.
2. Assignment: Write a short passage about the advantages and disadvantages of computers.
