The mortality rate was 30-75%. The symptoms were enlarged and inflamed lymph nodes (around arm pits, neck and groin). Victims were subject to headaches, nausea, aching joints, fever of 101-105 degrees, vomiting, and a general feeling of illness. Symptoms took from 1-7 days to appear.

T: We should remember the outbreak of the SARS epidemic in 2003. It starts with an abnormal lung disease in Guangdong and spread worldwide after Dr Liu Jianjun came to Hong Kong. He stayed at a hotel in which the disease spread to four more people. When these people returned home, they spread the disease to Canada, Vietnam and Singapore. Because it was completely new to physicians, no one really knew much about it. Even doctors weren't sure how to treat it and control it. It was very terrible.
