T: What animal is in the logo of WWF?

Ss: Panda.

T: Why was a panda chosen in your opinion?

S: Because the panda is becoming endangered. It calls people's more attention to environmental protection.

T: Quite right! As we know, because of human activities many species are becoming endangered. In this class we are going to learn Endangered Species. Now please look at the following pictures and match the names with the pictures. (Show the pictures of some endangered animals on the PowerPoint.)

After dealing with Ex1, go on with Ex2.

T: Now let's come to Ex2. Please take out your Oxford Advanced Learner's English-Chinese Dictionary and look up the Key Words. Three minutes later I will ask some of you to explain them in English.

T: Now let's read the definitions together. (Show the definitions of the Key Words on the PowerPoint). Then complete the sentences in Ex2.

Ask four students to read the sentence individually and check the answers. Then the whole class read the sentences together.
