略 宾

从

句 引导宾语从句的that 之后接的从句不长时，可以省略。

如果that 后面的宾语从句较长时，that 不能省略。 I hope (that) you'll be fine soon.

句 有时整个主句都可省略，只剩下一个从句。这种省略现象通常出现在简短答语中。 A:　You all like the story？你们都喜欢这个故事？

B:　Yes,　except that the conclusion is too long.

是的,只是结尾太仓促.

注意以下情况：

1. 省略主语

a. (I) Beg your pardon.

b. (It) Looks like rain.

2. 省略谓语或谓语的一部分

a. (Is there) Anything I can do for you?

b. (Take) Hats off, please

c. (Does) Anybody need help?

3. 省略主语和谓语或谓语的一部分

a. (It's a) Pity you couldn't come.

b. (It's a) Lovely day, isn't it?

c. (Have you) Had your breakfast?

d. (I'm) Looking forward to your reply.

4. 省略冠词

a. Child as he is, he knows a lot. (as引导的让步状语从句单数名词前省略冠词)

b. He was elected monitor of our class. (表头衔的名词作补语、表语或同位语时，前面通常省略冠词)

c. Later he turned writer. (turn后面的单数名词前省略冠词)

5. 简略答语

a. ---How are you getting along with your classmates?

　---Pretty well. (I am getting along pretty well with my classmates)

b. ---Can you repair it yourself?

---I am afraid not. (I am afraid that I can't repair it myself)

c. ---Do you think the weather will be fine tomorrow?

--- I hope so. (I hope the whether will be fine tomorrow.)
