教材分析

　　本单元以The neighborhood为话题，主要学习词汇：post office、police station、hotel、restaurant、bank、hospital、 street、pay phone、town、neighborhood(places); across from、in front of、behind、north、on the right\left、crossing、around等，通过教学使学生能在街上用英语问路并为他人指路，并且了解在日常交际中如何得体地运用英语语言向别人问路。通过运用简单的问路和指路的交际用语，帮助同学树立自信心，学会相互合作，敢于用英语进行交际，同时也培养学生乐于助人的品质。

教学目标：

　　1. 熟练掌握与话题相关的常用词汇与表达,能在街上用英语问路并为他人指路。（Ask for and give directions on the street）

　　* Where is\are ...?

　　* Can you tell me how to get to ...?

　　* Is there... near here?

　　* Go down/along this road.

　　* Take the first turning on your right.

　　* Turn right on the first turning

　　2. 能正确使用there be句型询问或描述事物的所在位置。

　　3. 能正确使用where引导的特殊疑问句询问事物的具体位置

　　4. 能正确使用各种方位介词表述事物的地理位置（Prepositions of place）,

　　5. 能根据简单的地图、句子等描述和传递信息。

教学重点和难点：

重点：学习问路与指路的常用语, 学会询问街道上某一场所的位置，阐述如何到达某一场所。

①与社区环境和设施相关的词汇及Where 引导的特殊疑问句。

②there be 句型的肯定式、一般疑问句及其回答方式。

③方位介词的用法。

难点：在于让学生运用正确的方位介词来描述各种社区设施的地理位置，并且将指路信息串联起来，形成完整的描述以口头或笔头方式表达出来。（用文字描述自己的街坊邻里）
