Jane Goodall
In 1960 Dr. Louis Leakey asked young Goodall to observe the behavior of the resident chimpanzees in order to better understand humans. Those observations altered the understanding of what it means to be human. "We are honoured to be able to play a small part in helping Dr. Goodall to deliver her vision of a world where chimpanzees and the other great apes are secure in the wild, and where people, animals and the environment live in harmony with one another," said Jane Lawton, Executive Director of JGI Canada in a press release. "We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many generous Canadians that make this work possible!"
