1. New words about transportation tools:

　 car, train, bus, subway, bike, boat, tricycle, taxi, plane

2. Ss Read the new words.

3. Ask and answer: How do you get to school?--- I take/ride the...to school.

I take/ride the + 交通工具 + to school

I get to school by +交通工具 / on foot.

take the bus = by bus = on a bus

take the train = by train = on a train

take a taxi = by taxi = in a taxi

take a car = by car = in a car

take a boat = by boat = on a boat

take a plane = by plane = by air

by bike = ride a bike = on a bike

take the subway = by subway = on a by subway

walk = on foot

　　Step 3 Work on 1a.

　　1. First ask students to look at the picture. And read the sample sentences to them. Ask them to repeat.

　　2. let Ss say how other Ss in the picture get to school. Give them some help if necessary.

3. Then read the phrases to them and ask them to repeat. Then ask them to write

　　them in the box and add other ways to get to school.

　　4. Check the answers like"a takes/ rides...to school."

　　Step 4 work on 1b.

　　1. tell Ss to listen to a recording. Two people are talking about some Ss get to school.

　　2. Point out the names of the Ss in the box. Read the names to the class.

　　3. T: Now listen to the conversation. Please write the number of the name in the white box next to the student. One of them has already been done.

　　4. Then play the recording. Ask the Ss to write the number of the name next to the correct Ss.

5. Ask Ss to complete the activity individually.

6. Then check the answers.

2. Ask some pairs of the Ss to present their conversation to the class.

　　 = get/go to + 某地 + by + 交通工具

　　e.g.

　　 He often takes the subway to work.

　　 = He goes to work by subway.

　　• 注意: 当home, here, there 作地点副词, 前不加to。
