Teaching steps:
Step One Warming up
Revise some school things by asking questions.
e.g.: What's this? It's a ... How do you spell it? etc.
Step Two New words
Learn the new words on the first page of unit 4 by showing different pictures.
Word game: show the different things. Get students to speak out the names.
Learn the new words in, on, under by helping the teacher find the lost things.
Step Three Practice
Let students finish 1a on page 19,match the words with picture, then check the answers.
Step Four Presentstion
1.Learn the prepositions of place: in, on, under.
2.Let's find the cat. Where's Tom? It's in/on/unde rthe box.
3. Learn how to ask and answer questions about where things are in both singular and plural forms.
Consolidate the prepositions by looking at the pictures and answer the questions: Where's ... ? Where're...? Practice with a picture with many things in both singular and plural forms.
Step Five Memory challenge
Let students remember the positions of the things quickly.Then covered it with a card. Ask the questions;Where's...? / Where are ...?Let students answer them.
