The exhibits in front of you are named bone flutes. They were dug out in Jiahu Site, located in Jiahu Village, Wuyang County, Henan Province in October, 2013.
The longest one, which has two finger holes, is more than 20 centimetres long and it was carved with delicate diamondshaped designs. Another one has five holes and is well preserved. Experts say these flutes are made of bones of birds. They date back to 8,000 years ago, which makes them the oldest musical instruments in China.
