T: Welcome to my writing class.

Show the following pictures on the screen.

T: Look at the screen. Do you know what the pictures are about? Who wants to tell us?

S: They are about advertisements. The first one is the famous brand - Lining. The second one is a kind of drink - Coca Cola. The third one is the famous brand of cellphone - Nokia.

T: Is that right?

S: Yes.

T: We often see these ads, so we get very familiar with them. When we need such kinds of products, we will first think about them. A good ad can attract more customers. Today we will learn how to write an advertisement.

Step II Pre-Writing

T: Now, everybody opens your book, turn to page 16, and take a look.

After taking a look at the book.

T: OK, now you know we are going to talk about...

S: Advertisement.

T: Yes. Writing an advertisement is one of our tasks today. We can see ads everywhere, every day on TV, newspaper, Internet etc. So, from you point of view, have you ever seen some ads which are very good or with high-quality? Any examples?

S: Yes, I saw a very good ad on TV. It talks about soap, named SAFEGUARD. I think the name is very good.

T: Very good. Anybody else?

S: Yes, I have ever seen an ad on a newspaper, it's a travel agency. It says that you can fly to Hong Kong and stay there for a whole week. And it only costs you 3,000 yuan to live in four-star accommodation. It really touches my heart.

T: Why not make your ideal ads? After the class, I hope everyone can write a good
