四、should与ought to
1.表示义务,"应该"。
We should/ought to go and see Mary sometime.
我们应该找个时间去看玛丽。
2.表示推测。
You can take your photos at 12 o'clock tomorrow. They should be ready by then.
你可以明天12点来取照片,到那时(照片)应该准备好了。
五、will与would
1.表示请求、建议,would比will委婉客气。
Will you please do me a favor?
请帮我个忙好吗?
2.will表示意志、愿望和决心,would用于过去的情况。
I will never do that again.
我再也不那么做了。
3.will表示规律,意为"注定会",过去时用would。
You will regret forever if you lose this golden chance.
如果你错过这次好机会,注定会终生后悔的。
4.would表示过去习惯性动作时,强调特定情况下的"倾向"; used to着眼于过去和现在的对比,含义为"现在不再是这样了"。
Whenever I was in trouble, he would help me.
每当我有困难时,他总是帮助我。
I used to drink black tea, but now I drink green tea.
我过去喝红茶,可现在喝绿茶了。
六、shall
1.用于一、三人称的疑问句中,表示征求对方的意见或指示。
Shall I open the window?

2.用在陈述句中与第二、三人称连用,表示说话人给对方的命令、警告、允诺、威胁等。
You shall have an answer by tomorrow.
到明天你可以得到答复。
七、need与dare
need作情态动词时,用于疑问句和否定句中,表示"需要"、"必要"之意;dare作情态动词时,用于否定句、疑问句和条件句中,表示"敢,敢于"。

-Yes, you must./No, you needn't.
