Step II Listening
Get the students to listen to a class presentation on Mars and complete notes.
T: As we know, Mars is an intriguing and exciting planet, for what it can tell us about the origin and history of planets and of life. Even though we have known something about it, there are many adventures and findings that await explorers. Would you like to know something about Mars?
Ss: Yes.
T: OK. Today we'll listen to a presentation on Mars. After you listen to it, please complete the notes in Exercise 1 on page 28. Before listening, read the information listed in Exercise 1. Thus you can know exactly what notes should be completed. So you should pay special attention to these points while listening to the recording.
Play the recording three times. For the first time, the students just listen. And for the second time, get them listen and complete the notes. Play the recording a third time, let them check their answers.
Then check the answers with the whole class.
Step III Presenting
Get the students to learn how to give a presentation and then give a five-minute presentation to the rest of the class.
