T: Good morning /Afternoon, at the beginning of the class I will check your homework exercise 1-3 on page 80. As you know, once language is used in daily life, it comes alive.

The students present their works.

T: As for Exercise 1, you'd better remember how to use the key structure, such as "Could you help us, please." "Would you mind getting up?" "I'd like...". Exercise 2 is to check how well you grasp these words and expressions. Exercise 3 focuses on the meaning of verb pull and its phrase, like pull up, pull out, etc.

Let students make notes and keep them in mind.

T: Now let's check how well you preview. Please go to page 82 and complete Word Corner.

Let students put the words in the correct group and circle two of them that can go in more than one group.

T: Look at the screen and try to find the problems. (Pictures showing crowded cars)

Ss: From the pictures, we can see cars with four wheels have taken the place of bikes with only two wheels and even become a popular means instead of that on foot.

T: What effect can you imagine will they have?

Ss: They will cause a great deal of pollution and the polluted air becomes poisonous and dangerous to our health.

T: So can you think of any ways to get rid of this bad situation?

Ss: It's likely to build a car that does not pollute the air.

T: Great! Today we are going to read an interview. After that, I think we may find a way out.
